On the 6th October 1998, Denise & Helen made a commitment to each other atop Ubirr Rock in the Northern Territory. This is the spot visited by the Rainbow Serpent or "Garranga'rreli", during her path across the top end of Australia, during the Dreaming. Helen & Denise felt her presence that day, blessing their commitment.
Twenty years later, on the same date, they made their commitment legal, atop the headland at Pilot Hill in Yamba with family and friends surrounding them. This time the skies were wild and whales were breaching, in celebration of two women and the continuing love they share.
Denise is walked down the aisle by her amazing Aunty Pat
Helen is walked down the aisle by her amazing sister Judith
Theirs was a ceremony filled with laughter and tears, blessings and devotion.
Long time friend Elizabeth blessed the union with mala beads and heartfelt sentiment
These two are so full of life and happiness, that it was no surprise when they skipped up the aisle!
Yamba has a lot of history for this couple, so we went to some of their favourite spots for some time out
"I like your tie too"!
The skies were dramatic (thank you sky gods!) but it didn't rain on anyone's parade
Lots of sentimental symbolism and history behind these rings
Back to the house to party!
Wishing you both more of everything good that you already have...happiness, love, joy and affection.
Massive hugs from Natsky.
