A rainbow coloured crowd gathered in Lismore's new quadrangle this morning, to wait together for the result of the recent Same Sex Marriage Plebishite. Up until a few days ago I was feeling positive that common sense would prevail and we would overwhelmingly vote yes and get on with it. But as the result has drawn closer, I have to admit to feeling more and more nervous and wondering if stupidity and hate would win. Thankfully 61.8% voted Yes and now we just have to hope that the politicians, having asked our opinion, now listen and act for the majority.

Buffering, buffering...trying to get the feed happening to hear the results...
People watched screens and listened with their breath held.
Then the word went out...it was a YES...and the crowd of course went nuts!
