Mandy and Luke live in Sydney. Their family and friends live all over Oz, except for Yamba. Luke and Mandy getting married in Yamba, means everyone gets a holiday!
The tyranny of distance has meant that all my contact with this fabulous couple has been via email, telephone and Skype...thank the wedding gods for modern technology! Arriving in Yamba last Saturday, the sky was dark, really dark and I'm wondering how brave these two will be. A quick call to the very chilled Mandy confirms that the wedding ceremony is going ahead, up on the hill at the light house, as planned. I love a brave couple! So last Saturday, in the seaside town of Yamba, I met Luke and Mandy for the first time in person. They were just as much fun and as relaxed in person as via the tech and I knew straight away, this was going to be a brilliant day!
In defiance of the heavens threatening rain and the wind messing with everyone's hair and frills, Luke and Mandy were married on the hill with a great bunch of family and friends looking and smiling on. There were cute kids, magpies, laughter, an eagle, a VW combi, more laughter, a few tears, beautiful words and thankfully, no rain!
Button holes and cuff links for the boys
Lace and beading for the girls
The weather atop the hill at the light house overlooking Yamba's main beach
Husband and wife and rain free!
You gotta love a happy bridal party and this lot, having been friends for years, were definitely there to have a good time celebrating with each other.
Beach shenanigans...and still no rain!
Seeing as Luke's nickname is Spooky, we had to visit his namesake beach.
Then it was time to party at the Yamba Shores Tavern
Always cake!
...and then the bridal dance, before it was time to burn up the floor...and this crew did! So much fun!
What a great wedding!
Hope the rest of the time you spend on the North Coast is as much fun.
Wishing you a life filled with love, adventure and good fishing of course!
Big love and hugs from Natsky and Bec.
